Final Fantasy VII
Well it wouldn't be much of a RPG community without mentioning of this title right?
Though I may find it to be a bit overrated, it's really a good game. Not my personal favorite Final Fantasy title but damn I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it. Now I never actually finished the game since I rushed into it and missed a bunch of side quests. So when I made it to Sephiroth he kicked my ass pretty hard! I would love to go back and replay it and actually do all the side quests and beat it someday. Makes me wonder how different the game would have been if it came out on the N64 like it originally was supposed to.

I thought I was the only one! It's a really cool game and I know people love the story - but I never really got into it as much as I did some of the others. I've yet to play the original all the way through, though I might eventually try to remakes if I ever find the time.Ravenfreak wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 5:09 pm Not my personal favorite Final Fantasy title but damn I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it. As a kid I used to watch my mom play it though. And now as an adult I watch my husband play the remake
Re: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII is the first Final Fantasy game that I played. I was so hooked to it that I started exploring other titles in the Franchise. Of all Final Fantasy games I have played, this one is my favorite. I have also played spin offs as well.

I still enjoy it, the good quests, love the magic system, ost was great and the cut scenes blew me away back in the day. Overall a good RPG.

Final Fantasy VII has being a classic. The story, the characters, and the music are all legendary. I've always been captivated by the themes of the game.

I'm kind of itching to play this again before the remake, just to enjoy it before getting the newer version.

It was fun seeing the fandom go from saying it’s the greatest in the franchise, to the worst, to “it’s good, but not god tier” over the years

And now I only really see praise for the remake online. I don't think I've seen too much criticism, my wife isn't a fan since they've changed things so she refuses to play it. I do see people on Reddit bring up the original game all the time on their lists of "greatest RPGs on the Playstation 1."Grungie wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 9:32 pm It was fun seeing the fandom go from saying it’s the greatest in the franchise, to the worst, to “it’s good, but not god tier” over the years

The remake is pretty good, it’s just weird. Though there are times where I feel they drug things out to extend the run time of the game to make the individual releases feel like a full game.Ravenfreak wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 12:11 am And now I only really see praise for the remake online.
