Digimon World 3

Post by Ravenfreak »

I've played a little bit of the first Digimon World game as well as Digimon World 2 a bit. But IMO DW3 beats both of them! It's a turn based RPG so it's no wonder why I love this game so much! You get to play as a character named Junior who enjoys playing Digimon Online, which is a game within the game. (Very meta I know lol) Basically your job is to stop this terrorist group from taking over the game to take over the world. You get to pick from three different starter packs, one is the powerful pack, one is the balanced pack and the last one is the maniac pack. The Powerful pack consists of Monmon, Agumon, and Renamon. The balanced pack consists of Kotemon, Patamon, and Renamon. Finally the Maniac pack consists of Kumamon (aka Bearmon in Japan), Patamon, and Guilmon. I started with the Balanced pack in my first playthrough. Anyways do you enjoy this game?

I'm gonna have to give this one a try, I played Digimon World before a bit but never the sequels. Guilmon is my favorite, I know which pack I'm picking in my playthrough!

Just to warn you, you'll probably struggle with the Maniac pack. :P But hey if you want to try and beat the game using that pack be my guest. My best friend growing up went with that pack for the same reasons you are going to. Guilmon was his favorite digimon lol. Let me know if you get stuck in the game and I can help!

The OST in this game is so good.

This game is what you might expect from a pokemon game in n64. I wish pokemon stadium was like this!

It definitely reminds me of Pokemon, probably because it's turn based. I liked Stadium but if it was more like DMW3 I would have loved it more.

Yeah, also training your monsters is the same plot, but anyway, stadium was more like "buy my portable games so you can beat it!"

Pretty much you're not wrong about that! I've tried beating Pokemon Stadium with rental Pokemon... yeah didn't go so well. Also I forgot I was in the middle of doing a challenge in DMW 3 where I was only going to use my rookie Digimon. I made it to the west sector too. :V I should get back to that someday.

Digimon World 3 as in Digimon World 2003? I put a lot of hours into that game. I don't think I beat it though.

Yep it's known as Digimon World 2003 in other countries! I know Europe never got Digimon World 2 which is why they named it Digimon World 2003 there. That version is actually better than the US release, it's got an extra battle after Galacticmon.
