Yep I've done a solo run in Pokemon Red! It's much easier to do solo runs in Pokemon games since you can find gameshark codes or modify the rom to change the starter you pick. I've done a solo challenge with just a Machop. I did this on real hardware, on my Super Gameboy though it was done using a reproduction cartridge since I couldn't find my legit copy of Red at the time.

Oh nice! I wouldn't mind doing a run like that with Mew or Mewtwo.

That would be a fun challenge! Mewtwo will probably do a bit better than Mew, though Mew can learn every single move in the game via TM.

Yep, Mew is kind of a cheat. Can always set it up for the next gym's weakness.
