I didn't know there was a LoTR game for the Super Nintendo! I never really been a fan of the movie series to be honest with you so I didn't really bother to look up and see a list of all the games that's been released. Any who it's a hack and slash RPG and it seems to have mix to poor reviews or at least from what I gather from the Youtube comments section of this long play video. Have you ever played this game before?

The game looks ahead of it's time IMO. It's cool to see a game like this on a 16-bit console. It's also book accurate too since the films didn't exist when the game came out, so fans of the books will probably dig this game.

Oh? Not often books get video games made of them.
Right that makes it pretty dang unique! There's also a Hobbit game for the Xbox, I have it but I haven't played it yet. It too predates the films so it's also based on the books!

Still pretty awesome, wish we get more book based video games these days.

I agree! Harry Potter had a few games based on the books come out on the PS1, which is interesting because other versions of the games are more based on the movies.

I didn't think we got anything till the movies came out, but I was too young to recall properly.

You're correct the games came out after the first film did but the first book came out in 1998. The first film came out in 2001, so not long after the book did which is crazy to think about since that usually doesn't happen so fast. xD
