Will you ever take the steps to cheese a battle? As in equip a character to completely own a battle?

I've done this before lol. In fact I used a bunch of giant's tonics on my Knight and kept using spells like Temper and Haste a bunch of times on him so he eventually was able to defeat Chaos while the rest of the party was knocked out.
