Couldn't reach the save point?

Back when save points were scattered around the RPG's world, was there ever a time you couldn't reach one in time?

Oh yeah I know there's been times where I couldn't reach it or forgot to save and got knocked out making me start from a save file that was further away from where I was at. That always annoyed me. xD

I know I tried to get to a save point a few times but failed, either by battle or power turned off during a storm.
