Have you mixed roleplaying games with wargames and if so, how?

Mixing up role-playing games with wargames would be a combination of storytelling and tactical mechanics. With this, players will be able to roleplay characters that can also command armies in a combat. With this combination, players can get personal adventures and massive battles. Don't you think so?

No, I've never done that before, sounds kind of interesting to do so though.

I guess fire emblem would be kind of like this, now that I think about it. Or Valkeryia Chronicles.
