Yesterday, I took the plunge and sunk $50 that I didn't really have in to the purchase of
The Foundry, a table top simulator for online role play which allows you to host maps, dice rolls, and character sheets. I think there's also a chat function too. The cool things about this software:
- Only the Game Master (Host) needs to purchase the software.
- All the players can access the game via Web Browser.
- Game Mechanics are built in via Player Mods (for example, Shadow Run 5e).
- And I believe everything is truly optional.
So, now I'm not sure what to do with this, as I'm not currently running a game, but it was interesting to peek at all the games that aren't officially supported that I own! Go figure, I collect mostly obscure games anyway! Maybe I should sit down and build some Mods for these games and offer them up. Too bad I couldn't get paid for my time and dedication doing that-- I need more time and freakin' work is getting in the way!!
Anyway, does anybody else use this technology?
