What Makes a Good Narrative in an RPG?

Post by 1stop »

By definition, the RPG is a storytelling genre. Immersive worlds, complex characters, and emotional depth place titles such as The Last of Us and Mass Effect at the top. If a storyline is great, it can ensure continued involvement by the player. That is a key reason why RPGs are that popular.

I pick up an RPG for its story and music, its gameplay second. Always the reason I'll get an RPG.

Yeah I look for story first especially when it comes to RPGs. If the game has a good story, a killer soundtrack and a battle system I love then I'll definitely play it. There's so many RPGs that I want to play someday it's crazy just how many games are in this genre.
