Mother 3

Post by Ravenfreak »

This game has yet to be officially released outside of Japan but there are ROM hacks that translate the game to English you can check out! This is the third game in the Earthbound series which is known as Mother in Japan. It was released in the mid 00's on the GBA. I haven't played this game yet, I only played and beat Earthbound AKA Mother 2. Have you ever played this game?

It baffles me that Nintendo won't officially release it outside of Japan, demand is so high they would make a profit.

I know right? Geez that video is 11 years old now at this point lol. I know fans have been wanting this for years, almost two decades at this point. I still don't get why Nintendo won't release it outside of Japan.

The fact that it's not officially released outside of Japan has definitely contributed to its cult following.
ROM hacks with English translations are a great way for fans to experience the game though.

That's a very exciting one. I still believe that nothing beats revisiting the classics through the ROMs especially when you have all the time. It lets you see things that you have missed and appreciate the game more

Mother 3 is indeed a cult classic, and it's a shame it never got an official English release. The fan-made translations are awesome, though! If you're interested in playing Mother 3, those translations are definitely worth checking out. Earthbound (Mother 2) is an amazing game, and it's cool you beat it!

I really should give this game a go sometime. I'm still figuring out what the next game will be that I play after I beat Super Mario RPG, which I'm getting closer to beating now! I don't think it'll be Mother 3, but maybe instead I'll play the first game and then play this one. (I've already played Earthbound, aka Mother 2.)

Hope you play it, I know there is an English patch out to make it playable.

You are absolutely right because the fan made translation is what keeps that game alive worldwide. I am so surprised how the community came together in one voice on a particular thing.
