Shining in the Darkness
This is another RPG for the Sega Mega Drive that's part of the Shining series. It's a dungeon crawler unlike Shining Force 1 and 2 and is the very first game in the Shining series. I played it a tiny bit but I'll definitely need to look up maps since I got lost pretty quickly. Have you ever played ...

Re: Legend of Mana
This is on my list of RPGs I need to play at some point. I've heard good things about it though.

Re: Pokemon Champions
So this game finally came out last week. Is anyone here playing it? I heard it's just PvP so I'm probably going to skip playing this one.

I really need to play this when I get the chance. Do you like it better than Arceus? I loved Legends Arceus.Grungie wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 4:07 pm I put a ton of hours in this game and I’m having a blast. Really enjoying this one

Re: The Lord of the Rings Vol. 1
I agree! Harry Potter had a few games based on the books come out on the PS1, which is interesting because other versions of the games are more based on the movies.
I didn't think we got anything till the movies came out, but I was too young to recall properly.
You're correct the games came ...

Re: Stop playing an RPG
Yeah I've done this with quite a few different games not just RPGs. It's worse with RPGs since you often forget what you were doing or the storyline up to the point where you stopped playing. I stopped playing Shining Force 2 since I got lost in the game and was too stubborn to look up where I ...

Re: Final Fantasy VII
It was fun seeing the fandom go from saying it’s the greatest in the franchise, to the worst, to “it’s good, but not god tier” over the years
And now I only really see praise for the remake online. I don't think I've seen too much criticism, my wife isn't a fan since they've changed things so ...

Re: Final Fantasy IX
I do remember how this game went from being so hated to becoming the best in the franchise over the years.
Kind of odd when that happens but it seems to happen quite often. I think people get nostalgic for certain games and it changes their perspective on the game. I can't judge this one since I ...

Re: What’s a RPG game mechanic that made NO sense?
I think Final Fantasy II's level up system doesn't make too much sense to me lol. Essentially you need to take a good amount of damage for your stats to go up which is odd. It's unique though I will give them that. It's broken in Origins, you can attack your own party members to get stronger lol ...
